Are you only as old as you feel? Attitudes about aging linked to cognitive health, study finds

A Penn State study led by Dr. Nikki Hill finds that older adults who maintain positive expectations about aging tend to rate their cognitive abilities higher and report less decline over time. Surveying 581 adults aged 65-90, the research revealed that those with optimistic views on aging perceived fewer cognitive changes and were more confident in their mental sharpness. Hill suggests that encouraging positive aging beliefs may support healthier cognitive aging and help in the early identification of cognitive decline.
